Ondřej Petrlík (1989) is a Czech painter who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Vladimír Skrepl. He was a finalist for the Critics’ Prize for Young Painting. His work is historicizing in the best sense of the word. Modernism is given a contemporary form, becoming a relevant challenge for the rising generation of painters. Petrlík seems to bypass postmodernism, connecting his work directly to the giants of Modernism.
