Ondřej Basjuk (1983) belongs to a young generation of artists who work respectfully and without hesitation with the multilayered and diverse legacy of painting. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, having studied in the Printmaking II studio under Professor Vladimír Kokolia. In his painterly work, a developing narrative, its revelation, and its concealment play a crucial role. His visual means of expression aim to capture a fateful moment. Besides painting, he creates drawings, objects, and installations in which he confidently defines his relationship to older masters.
