Klasická moderna, včetně umělců jako Henri Matisse a Pablo Picasso, vnímala ženské tělo a motiv odalisky jako absolutní středobod uměleckého zkoumání. 

Dokoupil se k tomuto tématu vědomě vrací. Snaží se oživit zdánlivě ztracenou či opomíjenou tradici klasické kresby aktu, kterou současné konceptuální umění často odsunulo na okraj zájmu. Dokoupilova interpretace aktu vnímá lidskou tělesnost jako posvátný prostor. Namísto pouhé formy tak jeho kresba zachycuje samotnou podstatu života a nespoutanou kinetickou energii, kterou živý model do ateliéru vnáší.

Dokoupil consciously returns to this theme. He seeks to revive the seemingly ‘lost’ or neglected tradition of classical nude drawing, which contemporary conceptual
art has often pushed to the margins.
Dokoupil’s interpretation of the nude perceives human physicality as a sacred space.
Instead of mere form, his drawing thus captures the very essence of life and the untamed kinetic energy that a live model brings into the studio.
